The Port Solent English Festival - PRESS RELEASE |
The Port Solent English Festival
Saturday 23rd April 2011
Calling all mad dogs and Englishmen.......
Is your home your castle? Is your dog your best friend? Do you like to go out in the midday sun with a cup of tea and some fish and chips? Roast dinner on a Sunday? You must be English! Join Port Solent this St. George’s Day, as we celebrate all things English!
We’ll be showing off the best local craftsmanship with a specialist market, where you can buy all manner of goods for your castle and your dog! There’ll be live medieval knights’ battle scenes, performed by stuntmen and live English folk music to help set the scene.
Centre manager Samantha Golden said “At Port Solent we’re proud of our Englishness. We have restaurants representing all corners of the globe, but we want to emphasise the fact that they’re all situated here in the beautiful ‘English Mediterranean’! Why would you go abroad when we have everything you need for a great time right here on our doorsteps?”
Full details of the event can be found on the Port Solent website www.portsolent.com and you can now keep up to date with all of the free events at The Boardwalk by following Port Solent on Facebook. The market will be open between 11am and 5pm, with entertainment running throughout the day. Call the Centre Management office on 02392 210606 for more details.
Ends.
